Pauline Gower Biography
Pauline Gower MBE - pioneering, flying circus pilot of the 1930s along with record-breaking engineer Dorothy Spicer, published poet - Piffling Poems for Pilots (two volumes) - and clear-sighted, determined leader of the 164 Spitfire Women of the ATA during WW2. Pauline achieved many firsts in her high-profile career, including equal pay for women pilots during the war. She left a huge legacy for women in aviation.
